Arrest Records in Lewis County

Use the source that answers the question. The Lewis County Sheriff is at 117 Court Avenue and answers 304-269-8251. Weston Police is at 102 West Second Street and answers 304-269-3207; request city-created reports through the city. The WVSP detachment directory lists the Weston office at 86 Glady Fork Road, 304-269-0500, for trooper-created matters. West Virginia Natural Resources Police uses its official DNR contact route because no Lewis County records desk is posted. The court remains authoritative for final disposition.

Lewis County WVSP Arrest Reports
A Lewis County arrest made by a state trooper follows a different Lewis County report channel. The WVSP Criminal and Crash Report Request, Form 141, asks for requester contact details and the crime date, type, location, victim name, and CI report number. It also contains separate crash fields and product choices, so use it only for a report created by WVSP.
A crime report costs $20. Audio or video costs $50, a photo set of up to 12 costs $25, and records over 50 pages add $1 per page. The form accepts a certified or business check, money order payable to Superintendent WVSP, or supported card payment other than American Express. Lewis County Arrest Booking Timeline
First, the officer documents the legal basis and executes a warrant or records the reason for a warrantless arrest. Transport follows. CRJCF staff confirm identity, inventory property, conduct intake screening, take a booking photograph and fingerprints, and create the admission record. Fingerprint data then enters the biometric identification chain. A complaint, warrant return, rights sheet, jail commitment, counsel paper, and bail event may next appear in Magistrate Court.
West Virginia Criminal Rule 5 requires an initial appearance without unnecessary delay. It does not create a universal 24-hour or 48-hour promise. When the person stays in custody, the preliminary examination ordinarily occurs within ten days. The usual period is twenty days for someone released, subject to waiver and lawful exceptions. A misdemeanor generally remains in Magistrate Court. A felony can move to Circuit after probable cause is found or the hearing is waived.
